Ordinary IR cameras switch to black-and-white and rely on LED illuminators, which often over-expose close objects and cannot tell colors apart. Color footage lets drivers recognize tail-light colors, road markings and clothing.

Q2. Will it still see in complete darkness?

A. Starlight cameras rely on ambient light. They work excellently on lit roads, urban streets and moonlit sites. For pitch-black rural yards where even a match would be the only light, an IR-illuminated model would be more suitable — tell us your scenario and we will recommend the right version.
